"EVERYTHING MUST BREAK" by Ryan Pollard

In the doldrums of a lonely hour,
I cracked my face right on the floor.
As rain pours down in this stolid town,
My head spins frantically around,
Trying to figure what to give and take,
In this world where everything must break.

I woke up gently in a pool of blood,
Thought of the first time I kissed a girl,
How it didn't even matter to me now.
Left myself for dead on desolate wood,
Nothing else mattered in the world,
Where everything shattered all around.

Words dripped from bloody lips,
Never wash away every new day.
When there's nothing to give or take,
Everything must break.
